Hope for the Weary

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

In the tired and exhausting lives that we live, it seems inevitable that we will find ourselves weary and ready to quit. The writer of Hebrews however shows us how to not grow weary in those seasons of life and our faith. Join Pastor Drew on this last Sunday of 2018 as he discusses Hebrews 12:1-17 and reveals the hope we have when we're weary.

Hope for the Soul

And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name. (Luke 1:46-49)

What greater moment to express gratitude toward God than when you discover that you have the privilege of carrying the long awaited salvation of the world? The magnitude of this honor was not lost on Mary, and the song that came from her expressed as much. Please listen with us as Pastor Kevin walks through the moving lyrics in Luke, sung by young mother preparing to receive her savior.
